Abhinav Garg, a student of DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, has got an all-India ranking of 3 and Archit Gupta, a student of DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 15, is ranked fourth.
Abhinav has scored 93.2 per cent marks in the Central Board of Secondary Education Class XII exams this year.
His father Ashok Garg says, “My son has really done the family proud. He was always into reading a lot. I wish to see him attain more success in life.” Abhinav wants to get into IIT Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Archit, who is ranked fourth in India, says backing from his family helped him achieve what he did. “It’s very important to be focused and to have support of the family. I am lucky that I had both. Another important thing to achieve success is to be able to manage one’s time,” he says.
Archit has scored 86.6 per cent in the CBSE Class XII exams. He loves to play the guitar. Till Class X, Archit was a student of St John’s High School in Sector 26.
He represented his school in basketball and volleyball in different sports competitions held at the city level.
Archit wants to study Computer Engineering from IIT Delhi.
According to Professor Ananya Ganguly of Ganguly Coaching Institute in Sector 20, last year, city students had managed only the sixth rank out of the top 10 ten. This year, there are two students in the coveted bracket. There are four students in the top 50 this year.
Nikhil Garg, from Sirsa who took coaching from AK Vidya Mandir, in Sector 32, has been ranked sixth in all-India IIT-JEE results.
